Charleston Spirit of Giving Day Non-Profit Palooza

On August 17th, Leveling the Fields proudly took part in the Charleston Spirit of Giving Day Non-Profit Palooza — a lively celebration of local organizations doing good in the community. Event Link

We showed up in style with our brand-new tablecloth (shout out to our Board President, Melyssa!), a beautifully curated soy candle gift basket courtesy of Lori for our raffle, and unique artwork generously donated by a local digital artist for sale at the booth.

A huge thank you to 14-year-old Emery, Melyssa’s daughter, for taking the lead on both set-up and teardown — total rockstar status!

Board Member Amanda joined Melyssa at the booth, answering questions and sharing the heart behind our mission. It was a true team effort and a great opportunity to connect with others who care deeply about community impact.

We also walked away with valuable insights. Events like these are all about showing up, sharing our story, and always staying open to learning — because growth and reflection are what strong nonprofits are made of.

Our team recently completed training on fundraising, and one message came through loud and clear: connection is everything. Whether it’s raising awareness or building partnerships, bringing people into our mission is a top priority.
