Bring After-School Girls’ Sports to Your School
Girls’ sports programs have extremely powerful benefits. According to research from the Women's Sports Foundation, girls who participate in sports are 15% more likely to graduate from high school and 10% more likely to graduate from college. They also develop strong leadership skills and are 80% more likely to have higher self-esteem.
Cost and transportation remain major barriers for many families. Only 24.6% of girls from low-income families play sports, and nationally, girls are both more likely never to have played sports and less likely to currently participate in sports, in comparison to boys. In South Carolina specifically, boys outnumber girls nearly 2 to 1 in high school sports.
Leveling the Fields offers free programming to Title 1 schools. By bringing an EmpowerPlay program to your elementary school, we can close this gap early and give every girl the chance to thrive, on and off the field.
We want to help schools address these disparities early by equipping young girls with resilience, confidence, and teamwork skills that will serve them in academics, leadership, and beyond. This investment isn’t just about sports, it’s about preparing the next generation of strong, capable leaders.
How It Works
We make it simple for schools to get started. Once you’re on board, we’ll work hand-in-hand with your team to launch a program tailored to your students and schedule.
Leveling the Fields provides:
Program structure and curriculum
Equipment
Coach support and training
Ongoing program coordination and evaluation
All we need is a school liaison to help coordinate details and keep communication flowing.
School Liaison Responsibilities
Each partner school designates a liaison, a staff member who acts as the main contact for our team. The liaison helps with:
Recruiting students and collecting registration forms
Coordinating practice space and schedules
Supporting coaches
Sharing updates and success stories with families
You’ll have the full support of the Leveling the Fields team every step of the way.
