Meet the Team: Morgan Flynn

If you’ve been following our Meet the Team series, you’ve likely noticed just how many dedicated individuals work tirelessly behind the scenes to bring our mission to life. Being able to shine a light on these team members and recognize their contributions has been a true joy. Today’s feature is no exception, as we highlight Morgan Flynn, whose work on our Grants Committee helps turn vision into opportunity.

Originally from Iowa, Morgan grew up playing softball, volleyball, and golf. Sports were a constant in her life, shaping her work ethic, confidence, and understanding of teamwork from an early age. That passion led her to pursue both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sports management, setting the foundation for a career rooted in athletics.

Her path, however, has always been uniquely her own. In a family where everyone has carved out different careers, her mom in educational support, her dad in finance, and her brothers in aerospace and management, Morgan embraced early on that success does not follow a single blueprint. Instead, it is built through curiosity, intention, and the confidence to pursue what feels right.

Today, Morgan works in compliance within the College of Charleston’s athletic department, where she brings a detail-oriented and thoughtful approach to her work. She relies on skills like research, cross-department communication, analytical thinking, and intentional delivery, all of which translate seamlessly into her role on Leveling the Fields’ Grants Committee.

In this role, Morgan helps drive one of the most critical pieces of our mission forward. Behind every grant application is a detailed and collaborative process that includes gathering program data, connecting with finance and program teams, understanding impact, and tailoring each proposal to align with a funder’s priorities. It’s precise work, but it’s also deeply impactful. Each application represents an opportunity to expand access, reach more girls, and continue leveling the playing field.

Through her work in college athletics, Morgan has also gained a deeper perspective on the evolving landscape of sports. As expectations on student-athletes continue to grow in the era of NIL, it is becoming increasingly difficult for many to see themselves beyond their sport and to recognize their value not just in performance, but in who they are as students, leaders, and individuals. Supporting that broader sense of identity is something Morgan cares deeply about, and tries to encourage through her work.

That belief aligns closely with our mission. Sports are just the starting point. The real goal is developing confident, capable young leaders who understand their worth extends far beyond the scoreboard.

Working in a space where women are often underrepresented has further reinforced the importance of confidence and self-worth. Showing up in those environments requires the ability to advocate for your voice and your work, something that can be easy to overlook until you experience it firsthand. It also underscores why creating access and opportunity for girls in sports is so important.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Morgan enjoys staying active through walks, pickleball, and cycling classes. She’s also an avid reader and sports fan, always finding ways to stay connected to the world that first inspired her.

It’s that lifelong connection to sport, paired with her belief in developing people beyond the game, that makes Morgan’s impact so meaningful. Through her work on the Grants Committee, she’s not just helping secure resources, she’s helping create opportunities for the next generation of girls to grow into confident leaders, both on and off the court. And while her work may happen behind the scenes, its impact is felt in every life Leveling the Fields touches.

As always, thanks for reading and being part of our journey.

With gratitude,

The Leveling the Fields Team
